Welcome to This week at St. Stephen the Witness!

.

Every Wednesday, Lisa sends out the Stone's Throw, a weekly update on the goings-on at St. Stephen the Witness Catholic Student Center. Have a look at the link below for this week's Stone's Throw.

If you are out of town for the weekend mass, feel free to have a look at the weekend bulletin. The bulletin link is updated at the time of the printing in the office. If you're looking for last week's bulletin, please stop by the center.

Hello!

Well, it looks like we are going to get some nice, warm summer weather
after all. Yay! It was hard for me to be patient this year but I am
certainly enjoying this weather now!

Join us for 5:30pm Mass this evening!

Speaking of gorgeous weather...we had a great day for our golf
tournament yesterday and we are

"FORE" - EVER GRATEFUL!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the 13th Annual St. Stephen
Golf Tournament possible! The support shown by the planning committee,
volunteers, sponsors, golfers, and those who purchased raffle tickets
added up to a great day out at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. Mark your
calendars for 14th Annual Golf Tournament which will take place on
Tuesday, May 25, 2010!

/Disclaimer: Credit for all 'FORE' puns must be given to Kelly even tho
I really wish I could take credit myself!

LITURGICAL MINISTRY--Thank you to those who have been faithful in
signing up for liturgical ministry! Being sure ministers will be there
is so helpful, particularly on those weeks when Fr. Ken and/or Anastasia
are away. With that in mind, this Sunday (May 24), Father Ken will begin
his development parish visits. We could use a greeter, 4 EMs, and a
collection counter. Next Sunday (May 31, Pentecost), Ann will be away.
We need five EMs, a sacristan, and a collection counter. Please sign up
for these or any summer Sunday in the gathering space or let Anastasia
or anyone in the office know if you are available to minister.

It doesn't quite seem possible that this weekend is Memorial Day. The
student center will be closed on Monday. Have a safe and wonderful long
weekend!

Remember to wear red as we celebrate PENTECOST on May 31! We will
decorate for Pentecost following 5:30pm Prime Time Mass on Wednesday,
May 27. We'll likely begin decorating by 6:15pm. Please join us to
help--many hands make light work! Some may even opt for an ice cream
run afterward.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Members of the St. Stephen community will be
heading over to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank on Wednesday, June 10, to
help fill backpacks for the Operation Family Pack Program. Meet at St.
Stephen at 5:00pm, we will help at the food bank from 5:30 - 7:30pm and
will return to the student center by 8:00pm. Closed toe shoes
(sneakers) are recommended. Please see the sign up sheet in the lobby.

Have a great day!

Lisa
